Star and Ember Episode 1-Welcome to Synervia.

This story, and the characters in it, belong to me.

1.1. Creation of the Synervian Universe.
A glowing, humanoid being appears in a dark void. It stretches out its arms, and the Synervian universe is created. Then the being curls up into a ball, and disintegrates into multiple orbs of light. The orbs disperse, and populate Synervia.

A woman opens her eyes. Her name is Embercore. She is yellow, with red hair. She is standing up and looking out of a window in her office, located at the end of the room behind her desk. She watches people in their human and animal forms walking, and/or talking, with each other. She is in the Synervia Castle. Suddenly, she gets a telepathic call from her friend, Wrathenus.

Wrathenus (Telepathically):
I'm here.

Embercore (Telepathically):
Alright. I'm coming.

1.2. Technodroid Awakens.
Embercore walk down towards a new room, the Orb Chamber, and enters it. Inside, the room is circular in form. Wrathenus is standing in the center of the room. She is purple with blue hair.
Embercore walks up to Wrathenus, and hugs her.

Embercore:

Are you two ready?

Wrathenus:
Yes. I've been waiting for this for a while.

The two of them walk to the end of the room where two orbs are present.
The orb on the right is black with a white glow around it, while the left orb is white with an orange glow around it. The white orb moves towards Wrathenus, and it starts glowing.

Embercore:
Looks like you've found your match!
Wrathenus:
Finally!

Wrathenus perform the Awakening process. She puts her hands on the orb, and the orb awakens. The name “Technodroid” appears, and the orb turns into a male cyborg. He is white, with orange hair. They reach down and help Technodroid to stand up. When Wrathenus touches him, a strong sensation comes over them! Wrathenus begins to fall down, but Embercore puts one of her arms on the back of Wrathenus to support her. Both Wrathenus and Technodroid are blushing.

Wrathenus:
Wow!
Embercore:
Hold on.

Embercore puts one hand on her head, and Wrathenus and Technodroid are telekinetically lifted up from the floor. Technodroid is so tall that he towers over both of them!

Embercore:
You two just experienced the Spirit-Soul Connection. He's the one.

Wrathenus looks up at Technodroid with a huge smile on her face.

Wrathenus:
Hello Technodroid. I'm Wrathenus. I'm your Soul-Mate.

Technodroid reaches out to touch Wrathenus. Suddenly, a white and orange fire comes out of the walls, and the building starts to shake!

Wrathenus:

What's going on!?
Embercore:
Get Technodroid out of here!

Wrathenus takes Technodroid out of the room, and the door closes behind them. Embercore puts her hands on her head. Her second and third fingers are above her eyes, and her fourth and fifth fingers are below her eyes.  Her eyes glow red, and she starts catching the falling debris with her mind. She lifts the debris back up, and extends her hands. A yellow and red fire melts the debris back into place. The room continues to fall apart! Embercore forms a psychic shield around her. A huge piece of the ceiling falls down, and is about to fall on the last orb!

Embercore:

No!

She extends her hand, and the debris stops right above the orb. Embercore telekinetically moves the debris to the other side of the room. Embercore flies back down to the ground, right next to the orb. She checks to orb to see if it's alright. The orb rushes over to her, and starts to glow.

Embercore:

You're awakening…

1.3. Stareye Awakens.

Matria places her hand on the orb, and the Awakening begins. The name “Stareye” appears. The black orb is engulfed in a white light, and turns into a male. He is black, with white hair. He looks up at Embercore. Above her, the entire ceiling starts to fall! Stareye lifts up his arms, and a black and white light engulfs the entire room, and the whole room is repaired! The crisis is over. Embercore is shocked, but alleviated. She looks back down at Stareye. She smiles at him.

Matria:

Thanks for the help, Stareye. I'm Embercore.

She extends her hand out to him to help him to stand up. As soon as Stareye grabs her hand, the Spirit-Soul Connection happens between them! Both Embercore and Stareye are blushing.

Stareye:

What was that!? I feel... weird!

Embercore:

…No… way… It happened... It finally happened!
Stareye:
Embercore?

Embercore looks at Stareye. She regains her composure.

Embercore:
We... *Clears throat* We just had the Spirit-Soul Connection...

Wrathenus and Technodroid walk back into the room. They're surprised that the room is back to normal.

Wrathenus:
What happened!?

Embercore:
It's okay. Everything's fine now.

Wrathenus notices Stareye, and sees that the last orb is missing.

Wrathenus:
Is that...
Embercore:
The last orb awakened. This is Stareye. He's my Spirit-Mate.

A large smile grows on Wrathenus' face. She and Embercore hug each other.

Wrathenus:
Congratulations!
Embercore:
Thank you!

Technodroid walks up to Stareye.

Embercore:
Stareye, this is Queen Cyborg and her mate is Technodroid.

Wrathenus:
Nice to meet you, Stareye.

Wrathenus smiles at Stareye, and hugs him. Stareye turns to Technodroid. Technodroid towers over Stareye as well. Stareye extends his hand out to him. Technodroid briefly reaches out to Stareye, but he stops. Instead, he waves. Stareye waves back. Wrathenus give Stareye and Technodroid a device.

Queen Cyborg:
These are your wrist computers, or "wrist comps." They are devices that can turn into any kind of machine that you need.

Stareye and Technodroid put their wrist computers on their wrists. A holographic screen pops up from them, showing them a menu. Stareye smiles, and his eyes lighten up. Technodroid goes through the same thing on his wrist computer. He is intrigued by what he sees on the computer.

Wrathenus:
My people created all of the technology in Synervia. The center of our business is Cyborg Industries, located in the Cyborg Mansion. It's where I, well now Technodroid and I, live.

Technodroid is alerted by this sentence, and wonders what the company looks like. The group then heads o
utside. Stareye and Technodroid are in front of the entrance of the castle, while Embercore and Wrathenus are in front of them.

Embercore:

Alright, guys. Now, you're going to learn how to fly.

Stareye:

Fly?

Embercore:

It’s the best mode of transportation.
Wrathenus:
Aside from using a transporter, but that's for another time.

Embercore:

Now, repeat after me: Look up, and think about the sky as your destination.

Embercore looks up at the sky, and she starts to float off of the ground. Both Stareye’s and Technodroid's eyes widen! Embercore rises about 30 feet from the ground. Queen Cyborg flies into the air and joins Embercore.

Wrathenus:

Now it’s your turn, guys!

Both Stareye and Technodroid look up into the sky, and think about flying. Technodroid begins to levitate, and joins the group up in the air. Everyone turns back to Stareye. He is still on the ground.

Stareye:

Nothing’s happening.

Embercore:

Try focusing on me.

Stareye looks up at Embercore. Then... He shoots up into the air! He flies past the group, and starts flipping uncontrollably in the air!

Stareye:

I can’t stop!

Embercore tracks Stareye, and flies towards the castle. She stretches out his arms into the air, and catches Stareye! She lands on the ground, and lowers Stareye. Stareye falls to his knees, petrified. Embercore pats Stareye on the back.

Stareye:

T-T-Thanks.... Sorry…

Embercore:

You're fine, you're fine.

Wrathenus and Technodroid land on the ground.

Embercore:
We'll try again.

Stareye:

No... Um, I mean, I will try again later. I think I’ll go lie down for a bit.

Embercore relents, and smiles at him.

Embercore:

Okay, but we will try again later.

Stareye walks defeatedly into the castle. Embercore turn to Wrathenus and Technodroid.

Embercore:
I think you two should finish Technodroid's training at home. I'll probably have to go slower with Star.

Wrathenus:
That's fine. Just try not to traumatize him.

Wrathenus laughs.

Embercore:
What is that suppose to mean?
Wrathenus:
Oh, nothing.

Wrathenus and Embercore give each other a peck on the cheek.

Wrathenus:
Take care.

The cyborg couple flies away. Embercore ponders over what Wrathenus said, and how Stareye felt disappointed about failing to learn how to fly.

Embercore:
Hm. Maybe she has a point...

Stareye heard the conversation. He looks up at the ceiling, and thinks about flying. He doesn't move. He stares intently at the ceiling.

Stareye (In his head):
Come on... Move!

Stareye shoots off of the ground, and hits the ceiling! Embercore hears the thump, and heads inside. She looks up and sees Stareye stuck to the ceiling.

Embercore:
Star, are you okay?

Stareye removes his head from the ceiling.

Stareye:
I'm fine... I can do this!

Embercore relaxes a bit, letting Stareye try to take control of the situation. She waits for his next move. Stareye shoves his body off of the ceiling. He continues to look at the ceiling, which prevents him from falling to the floor. He carefully looks down, and begins to descend. He pushes his body down a bit, and he descends faster until he lands on his feet. A large smile forms across his face.

Stareye:
I did it... I did it!

Embercore:
I knew you could! Now, let’s have some fun.

The two of them head outside. Embercore flies into the air. She stops, and waits for Stareye. Stareye follows suite. They fly towards the buildings. They soar above the buildings, looking down to see people, both in human and animal forms, going about their daily lives. They land on the roof of a tall building, sit down, and enjoy the view.

1.4. Cyborg Industries.

Meanwhile, Technodroid masters his flight and animal transformation training. He, and Wrathenus, are in a field.

Wrathenus:

Alright... Fly!

Technodroid leaps into the air, and flies around.

Wrathenus:
Now, transform!

Technodroid transforms into his animal form. It's a dino-felid.

Wrathenus:
And
return!

Technodroid transforms back into his human form, and lands back onto the ground. Wrathenus runs up to him, and hugs him.

Wrathenus:
That was fantastic!

Technodroid:
I have a great teacher.

They kissed each other.

Technodroid:
By the way, can you show me the mansion?
Wrathenus:
You want to see the factory?
Technodroid:
Yes.
Wrathenus:
No problem. In fact, you'll take us there.
Technodroid:
How?
Wrathenus:
Tap your wrist comp.

Technodroid presses on his wrist comp, and a screen appears.

Wrathenus:
Tap on the "Transporter" button.

Technodroid presses on it, and a white and orange vehicle appears.

Wrathenus:

This is your personal transporter. I'll teach you how to drive.

The two of them get into the vehicle. Lights in Technodroid's seat appear, and a control wheel appears in front of him. There is a computer in the middle of the front of the car. Wrathenus presses on it, and presses on the map button. A holographic map appears.

Wrathenus:
Computer, lot a course for Cyborg Mansion.

A red line appears on the map, directing them towards the mansion.

Wrathenus:
Alright Tech, grab the control wheel. It, and your seat, will go in the direction that your mind wants you to take us. Follow the directions of the map, and then we'll head home.

Technodroid follows the map, and the vehicle takes them to the Cyborg Mansion.

Wrathenus:
Welcome home, love.

Technodroid examines the mansion. The two of them walk up to the front door, and enter. Technodroid is amazed at what he sees. Wrathenus reads his mind, and sees his excitement.

Wrathenus:
That's not the best part. Follow me.

Wrathenus leads Technodroid towards an elevator at the back of the room. She presses a button on the wall, on the right side of the elevator, and the elevator doors open up. They enter it, and the elevator takes them down to a factory. Technodroid's eyes light up.

Wrathenus:
Welcome to Cyborg Industries.

The three of them walk down and head over towards a station. Wrist computers are being made. Technodroid runs towards another station where schematics for vehicles are being made, and put into the wrist comps. A smile forms across his face. Technodroid touches the station. Suddenly, white and orange fire bursts out of the machine! Wires come out of the crevices, and start twisting together! Technodroid backs away. Wrathenus runs towards the station, touches it, and the station gets repaired. Technodroid looks at his hand.

Technodroid:
What's wrong with me?
Wrathenus:
Babe, it was the machine. Not you.

Technodroid looks concerned still.

Wrathenus:
Don't worry about it. It's nothing I can't handle. I spend all my time down here working on these machines.
Technodroid:
"All" your time?

Wrathenus looks a little embarrassed.

Wrathenus:

I... I've always been a bit of a loner.

Suddenly, Wrathenus splits into three versions of herself. One version is purple. The second is blue. The final version is green.

Purple Wrathenus:
I use to just hang out by myself before Ember and I became friends. Then, you came along.

The three Wrathenuses sync back into each other. Wrathenus frowns.

Wrathenus (In her head):

Even though I helped to make ALL of the technology in the UNIVERSE, everyone ignored me.  Everybody loves Ember though...

Technodroid reads Wrathenus' mind, and hears everything. A devious smile forms on his face.

Technodroid:
Is that a hint of jealousy I hear in your thoughts?

Wrathenus is shocked, and puts her hands on her mouth even though she did't speak.

Wrathenus:
No no no no no! Not at all! I owe her so much! Everybody does...

Wrathenus turns away from him, ashamed of her thoughts. Technodroid walks up behind her, and wraps his arms around her.

Technodroid:
It's okay. You can tell me.

Wrathenus look at Technodroid, contemplating whether or not she should continue. However, she feels safe around him. Back at the Synervian Castle, Embercore is teaching Stareye how to transform. They're back on the front lawn.

Embercore:
Alright, Star. Now that you know how to fly, it's time I taught you how to transform into your animal form.

Stareye:
What do I have to do?
Embercore:
First, you have to imprint on me. It allows us to control each other's animal forms.

Stareye:
Is the animal form dangerous?
Embercore:
Inherently, no. However, there have been some incidents in the past with "late bloomers." It takes them a little while to transform. When they do, their animal forms can be a little harder to control since they haven't imprinted right away.
Stareye:
In that case, let's get this done right now.

Embercore puts her forehead on Stareye's forehead, and stares into Stareye's eyes. Stareye is a bit shocked. He looks at Embercore, and notices how... pretty she is. Embercore's cheeks turn a bit red, and she smiles.

Embercore:
S-Sorry if this feels a bit awkward, honey.
Stareye:
N-No no, you're fine. I mean, IT'S fine!

Embercore chuckles a bit. They stare at each other for a little longer, and Embercore's eyes glow. She enters into Stareye's mind, and sees Stareye's animal form. It's curled into a ball and sleeping on the ground. Embercore walks up to it. The creature is ten times her size. She places her hand on the creature’s snout.

Embercore:
Creature, it's time to wake up.

The animal doesn't wake up. Embercore tries again.

Embercore:
Creature, wake up!

The animal doesn't move.

Embercore:
Hm...

Embercore comes out of Stareye's mind, and her eyes stop glowing.

Stareye:
Nothing happened... Did it?
Embercore:
You didn't transform yet, so the imprint didn't happen. I saw your animal form, but it was sleeping. It appears that you're a late bloomer.
Stareye:
Terrific...
Embercore:
We'll keep trying.

Suddenly, Stareye gets a message on his wrist comp. He answers it.

Stareye:
Hello?

Technodroid:
S-Star... eye... H-Help...

Both Stareye and Embercore look concerned.

Embercore:
Is that...

Stareye:
Technodroid. It sounds like he's in trouble!
Embercore:
I'm going to find out.
Stareye:
I'm going with you.

Embercore:
No. I'm-
Stareye:
I'm GOING with you.

1.5. Trouble in Paradise.

Embercore is surprised by Stareye's insistence, but she nods her head in approval. They fly over to the Cyborg Mansion. They land right in front of the door. Stareye notices that the front door was kicked inward.

Stareye:
It looks like a break-in.
Embercore:
Stick together, and be careful.

They both carefully enter the mansion. So far, they find nothing. They turn to the right, where the living room is. Towards the end of it, near the entrance to the kitchen, they find Technodroid's body lying on the ground! His limbs have been ripped apart from his body, but his right arm remains attached. Stareye and Embercore run towards him.

Stareye:
Technodroid!

Technodroid doesn't move. Embercore looks around.

Embercore:

Stay with him. I'm going to look for Wrathenus.

Embercore goes into the kitchen. Stareye examines Technodroid's body. He touches Technodroid's chest, and his whole begins to glow. The wires that are sticking out of the ripped limbs of Technodroid begin to move. Stareye removes his hand, and Technodroid's body stops glowing. Then Stareye gets an idea. He collects Technodroid's severed limbs, and places them next to Technodroid's body. He places his hand back on Technodroid's chest, and his body begins to glow. The wires in Technodroid's severed arm reattach to each other, and his arm is restored! Stareye's eyes widen. He checks Technodroid's legs, and the wires reconnect the lower limbs to his body. Technodroid's eyes turn on, and Stareye removes his hand from his chest.

Stareye:

Ember!

Embercore runs back into the living room, and sees that Technodroid is awake. Embercore turns to Stareye.

Embercore:

Star, did you-

Stareye:

I… I healed him!
Technodroid:
...What...?
Stareye:
Hey buddy. Take it easy. Ember and I are here.

Technodroid:

Where… Where’s Wrathenus?

Embercore:

...Just stay calm. We’re taking you to the castle.
Stareye:
I'll carry him.

Stareye picks up Technodroid, and carries him outside. Embercore is surprised, but then follows Stareye out of the mansion. Unbeknownst to them, a couple watches them fly away. They flee from the scene. Technodroid opens his eyes, and he wakes up in the living room of the Synervian Castle. He's lying on a couch, and is covered in a blanket. Stareye and Embercore are there.

Stareye:

You're finally awake.
Technodroid:
What happened?
Stareye:

Do you remember anything that happened?

Technodroid:

…I... I can't…

Embercore:

Let me try to help.

Embercore reads Technodroid’s mind. She sees an unknown figure invading the Cyborg Mansion. Technodroid runs up to stop the figure, but his limbs are cut off! The figure throws Technodroid to the floor, and goes after Wrathenus. After that, Embercore doesn't see anything.

Matria:

...Someone attacked you and Wrathenus.
Technodroid:
Where's Wrathenus?

Stareye and Embercore look at each other in hesitation. Technodroid leans up

Technodroid:
Guys?
Stareye:
After we put you here, Ember and I went back to your home. We searched everywhere, including the factory. We couldn't find Wrathenus.
Embercore:
Not even her orb. If Wrathenus was deceased, we could've brought her back with her orb. As for now... she's completely disappeared. After reading your mind, that person that attacked you probably has her or has her orb. I'm so sorry.

Technodroid shakes his head. Tears start to stream down his face. He puts his head in.

Stareye:

We’ll find whoever did this, Tech. I promise.

Enbercore:
You'll stay with us until we make sure that your home is safe. Get some rest.

Technodroid lies back down on. Eventually, he falls back asleep. Upstairs in their bedroom, Stareye and Embercore ponder over what happened. Stareye notices that Embercore is extremely sad.

Stareye:
Are you okay.
Embercore:
...I did my best to maintain stability in Synervia. Wrathenus, however, was always... isolated. Despite my best efforts to help her make friends, I was the only one who managed to get close to her. We became best friends. Now that she's gone, I feel like... I failed her...

Stareye walks up and hugs her from behind.

Stareye:

Hey. We did everything that we could for now. Maybe we should rest for a bit, and then come up with a plan later on.
Embercore:
...Yeah. That's fine.

Embercore transforms into her night gown, and crawls into the bed. Stareye puts the cover onto her. She falls asleep. After that, Stareye sneaks out of the room, and goes into the hallway. He taps on his wrist comp, and a holographic board appears.

Stareye (In his mind):
I have to do something. Both Ember and Tech need my help. There has to be something that we missed at the mansion. Maybe if I go back there and do another search, I might find a clue or something. I should do something to protect myself in case I run into trouble. Maybe... I should make a protective suit!

A pencil materializes out of Stareye's wrist comp, and he begins to draw on the board. He draws a superhero suit. After he's done, he taps on the drawing. The suit materializes onto Stareye's body. It's a black and white suit with a black cape. A hat covers his ears and his forehead. Stareye looks pleased with his suit. He turns to go down the stairs, but he stops. He doesn't want to accidentally wake up Embercore or Technodroid. He turns around, and sees a window. He opens the window, and sneaks onto the roof. He lowers the window a bit, and then flies into the air. He heads towards the Cyborg Mansion.

1.6. Intruders.

Stareye arrives in front of the Cyborg Mansion. Everything is the same as it was before. Stareye enters the building, and begins to look around.

Stareye (In his head):
Alright, let's start over. Technodroid was found in the living room, so I'll start there. After that, I'll search the place from top to bottom.

Stareye begins his investigation. Outside the mansion, two people creep up to the entrance. They're the couple from before. One of them is a male, and the other a female. The man is green and red. The woman is white, pink, and blue. They're wearing outfits that cover their faces. They whisper to each other.

Man (Whispering):
Someone entered the mansion!

Woman (Whispering):
What's going on?
Man (Whispering):
I don't know, but I want to find out.

The two of them sneak through the entrance, and wonder at the size of the mansion. Suddenly, they hear footsteps. The man grabs the woman, and they run against the wall. The two of them disappear. Stareye walks past them unknowingly, and heads upstairs. While still camouflaged, the man points to the end of the room. It's the elevator. The man takes the woman by the hand, and the two of them run towards the elevator. They manage to enter it. The man lets go of the woman, and their camouflage disappears.

Woman (Whispering):
Thanks, babe!
Man (Whispering);
You know I've got you!

The elevator lands. The doors open, and the couple sees that they're in Cyborg Industries.

Woman:
We made it!
Man:
...How much do you think we can carry out of here?

The woman has a look of shock on her face.

Woman:
Are you serious?
Man:
Yeah! Every piece of technology is in here. Nobody is gonna notice a few wrist comps missing. They'll just make more.
Woman:
But isn't this... stealing?
Man:
...You don't want to do this?
Woman:
No, I REALLY want to do this!

The man smiles.

Man:
Then by all means, my dear, take whatever you want.

The two of them start grabbing wrist comps, and shove them into their pockets. They head back into the elevator, and go back up. The two of them are ecstatic. Suddenly, the two of them get a scent. The woman extends her hand to the man, and the man grabs it. The two of them are camouflaged. When the elevator opens up, Stareye is standing in front of them! The couple is shocked, but they don't move or speak. Stareye examines the interior of the elevator. He doesn't see anything. He sniffs the air, but he doesn't smell anything. He's confused, but he doesn't move. Then he has an idea. He presses the elevator button on the wall, and the elevator doors begins to close. The man lets go of the woman's hand, and the camouflage disappears! The couple is exposed! The man runs towards Stareye, bursts through the elevator doors, catches Stareye, and the two of them slide across the floor! Stareye kicks the man to his right, and he lands in the living room. Stareye gets back onto his feet, and his attention turns to the woman. She raises her hands up. Then, splits into three different versions of herself and attacks Stareye! One version of her grabs his face. The second grabs his waist. The third grabs his legs. The man aims his arm at Stareye, and a wrist gun appears.

Man:
Get down!

The three women jump off of Stareye, and they turn back into one. The man fires a green fire bullet, and it hits Stareye! Stareye falls down. The man gets up, and runs towards the woman.

Woman:
Let's get out of here!

Suddenly, Stareye gets up and punches the man in the face. The man falls down. Then he grabs the woman by the shoulders.

Stareye:
Give up!

Stareye's eys glow white, and ice comes out of Stareye's hands. The ice starts to engulf the woman! Stareye is surprised. The woman's eyes glow white as well, and she breaks free of Stareye's grip by freeing her arms. The ice breaks as well.

Woman:
You're a water type, huh? So am I, but I can also control earth... and air!

She extends her arms and opens her hands. Two tornadoes come out of her hands, and they engulfs Stareye! Stareye gets blown back to the end of the wall! Then he has another idea. He firmly plants his feet to the ground, and ice comes out from underneath his foot. His foot doesn't move. Then he puts his other foot in front of him, and does the same thing. He is sticking to the floor! Stareye forces his body off of the wall, and begins to slowly walk forward. The woman can't believe this! The man gets back on his feet, and notices what's happening. He looks up at the ceiling above Stareye, and begins shooting the ceiling with fire bullets. Stareye looks up, and pieces of the ceiling comes down on top of him!

Man:
Run!

The couple runs towards the entrance. Suddenly, a tentacle comes out of the wall, and grabs the woman's leg! She falls to the ground. A few wrist comps fall out of her pockets. The man stops, turns around, and grabs her arm. He shoots the tentacle with a couple of bullets, and the tentacle begins to squirm. Another tentacle appears, and grabs the man's arm! He struggles to free himself, but a third tentacle appears and grabs him by the face! The couple are dragged into the wall, and they disappear. The wall reconfigures itself to appear normal. The rubble on the ground begins to stir. It lifts up, and reconnects with the ceiling. Stareye appears, with his hands lifted up into the sky. Once the last piece of ceiling debris is back into place, Stareye falls onto his hands and knees and takes a couple of deep breath.

Stareye:
That's the SECOND time a roof fell on top of me...

He examines his body, and sees that he is alright. Then he remembers the intruders. He sees the wrist comps on the ground. They're near the entrance. Stareye runs towards the entrance of the mansion, and looks outside. He doesn't see anybody. He lets out a frustrated sigh.

Stareye:
Ember and Tech are going to kill me.

Stareye flies into the air, and heads back home.

1.7. Partners.

Stareye lands back onto the roof of the castle. The window that he left through is still open. He raises the window, and sneaks back inside. As soon as he closes the window, he sniffs the air. A familiar scent is in the air. Suddenly, a yellow and red tail grabs Stareye and pulls him into the bedroom! It's Embercore!

Embercore:

And where were you?
Stareye:
I... I went back to the mansion-
Embercore:
By yourself.
Stareye:
...Y-Yeah... I didn't want to disturb you-

Embercore:
You could've been hurt, or worse.
Stareye:
I wanted to help-

Embercore's tail disappears, and Stareye is freed. Embercore's tail transforms back into legs. She takes a deep sigh.

Embercore:
I know you wanted to help, but I don't want you doing this by yourself. I lost Wrathenus, and if something were to happen to you, I would lose my mind.
Stareye:
Well...

Embercore looks concerned.

Embercore:
What happened?

Stareye takes a deep breath.

Stareye:
I fought two people who invaded the mansion. They stole a bunch of wrist comps from Cyborg Industries. I tried to stop them, but they got away.

Embercore closes her eyes. Stareye feels disappointed, and puts his head down.

Stareye:
I'm sorry. I failed twice.

Embercore hugs him. Stareye reciprocates.

Embercore:

I'm just glad you're okay.

Stareye nods his head in agreement. Embercore notices Stareye's suit. She rubs her hand on Stareye's chest.

Embercore:
I like the suit.

Stareye's ears perk up in excitement.

Stareye:
Thanks. I made it to protect myself. I think the results are pretty positive, considering what I went through at the mansion.

Embercore smiles.

Embercore:
Great idea! I'll need to make one myself.

Stareye smiles. Embercore holds Stareye's hand.

Embercore:
I know that you want to help, and you will. However, I want us to work together. We're partners, and partners work together. I'll always have your back, and you'll have mine. Okay?

Stareye gets serious.

Stareye:
I won't let anything happen to you.

Embercore blushes. Stareye is surprised. He thinks she looks beautiful. He leans in closer, but he stops out of hesitation. Embercore nods her head in approval. Stareye leans in again, and the two of them kiss on the lips. The two of them hug each other. Their lips part. They're both a little embarrassed, but they're both very happy. Embercore takes Stareye's hat, and puts it on her head. Then she wraps her arms around Stareye's neck, and smiles at him.

Embercore:
Now, partner, let's get to work.

Below in the living room, Technodroid listened to their conversation while pretending to be asleep.

1.8. Training.
Later on, Technodroid, Stareye, and Embercore, return to the Cyborg Mansion. Technodroid examines the damage.

Stareye:
Ember and I will help you repair the damages.
Embercore:
We'll also find those robbers, and Wrathenus. That's a promise.

Technodroid smiles. He turns to face them.

Technodroid:
Thanks, guys. If you need anything, just ask.

Stareye and Embercore smile at him. Then, Technodroid makes an announcement to all of Synervia.

Technodroid:

Hello Synervia. I have to announce some terrible news: Wrathenus, my beloved soul mate, is missing.  Currently, Embercore and Stareye are working hard to find out what happened to her. If it wasn’t for them, especially Stareye, I wouldn’t be here right now. I will use this second chance to serve all of you as best as I can, just like Wrathenus did...

Technodroid pauses, and closes his eyes. He takes a deep breath, and then opens his eyes again.

Technodroid:
Thank you.

After that, Stareye and Embercore put their plan into action. Stareye watches Embercore design her own superhero suit on her wrist comp. When she's done, she presses on it and it materializes onto her. She turns around to see how she looks in it.

Embercore:
How do I look?

Stareye blushes.

Stareye:
You look great.

Embercore blushes as well. Then, they head to the Orb Chamber room. They walk into the center of it. Emberbore turns around, and faces Stareye.

Embercore:
I figured that this could be our new training room.

Stareye:
Great idea.

Stareye transforms into his superhero suit. He taps on his wrist comp, and a holographic manual appears. Stareye grabs the manual, and separates it from the wrist comp. He enlarges it so that he and Embercore can see it.

Stareye:
I came up with some defensive moves that I think will help protect us.

Stareye and Embercore raise their fists, and get into a defensive stance.

Stareye:

Ember, swing your fist at me. I'll try to-

Embercore swings her fist at Stareye. She hits him in the face! Embercore covers her mouth out of shock.

Embercore:

I’m so sorry!

Stareye rubs his head. He cracks a smile.

Stareye:

I meant to say that I was going to try and catch your fist.

Embercore:

Are you okay?

Stareye:

I'm fine. Let's try that again.

Embercore is relieved. she takes a deep breath, and gets back into position. She throws another fist at Stareye, but he catches it this time.

Stareye:

Good! Now, I'll try to kick you. You will block my kick with your arms.
Embercore:
Okay!

Stareye kicks Embercore in her stomach. Embercore blocks Stareye’s kick with her arms, but the force of Stareye’s kick sends her to the opposite side of the room! She hits the wall! Stareye’s jaw drops. Embercore detaches herself from the wall, and walks up to Stareye.

Embercore:

Was that-

Embercore stumbles a bit, but regains her posture.

Embercore:

…Payback for punching you?

Stareye:

I’m sorry! I didn’t think I kicked you that hard!

Embercore smiles.

Embercore:
Don't worry, babe. I'm alright.

Stareye:
This might take a while for us to get use to.

Embercore gets back into position.

Embercore:
I'm not giving up.

Stareye smiles.

Stareye:
I knew you wouldn't.

The two of them continue to train until they mastered their move sets. Next, they learn to control the four elements: Water, earth, fire, and air. Stareye is a water type, so he learns to control fire, earth, and air. Embercore is a fire type, so she learns to control water, earth, and air. Embercore even trains Stareye how to drive his vehicle. When their training finally ends, they establish themselves as the Synervian Protection Team. Back at the Cyborg Mansion, underneath Cyborg Industries, a woman receives a telepathic message. Her face is covered in a hood, and her body is shrouded in darkness. She is sitting on her hair, which is made of tentacles.

Mystery Caller (Telepathically):
Star and Ember told me that their training is over. How are our new recruits doing?
Mystery Woman (Telepathically):
They're exceeding expectations. Then again, those two will do anything for a price.
Mystery Caller (Telepathically):
As long as they get the job done. We need to make our move quickly.

The call ends. The mystery woman turns around, and faces the two intruders.

Mystery Woman:
Training is over. You know what to do.

The two intruders walk forward.

Male Intruder:
Don't worry. I got a bullet with Stareye's name on it, and I'll make sure it gets delivered.
